Story:
Many of our mannerisms have been developed overtime by a number of environmental factors. We mold into who we are based on who and what we surround ourselves with. Often times, this isn’t our choice especially when we’re a child. But, as we get older and have the ability to make our own choices we have the opportunity to make a conscious choice of who we spend our time with, what we do, and where we do it. By this time, we’ve already developed habits and a mindset that makes up who we are - our character. Sometimes we do not align with those around us. Sometimes we can make people feel things that we had no intention of making them feel. It can stem from who we are as a person and it’s not wrong but it’s not right for those to stick around if we aren’t healthy for them. It can be minor things that remind them of their past relationships or their parents. It becomes a trigger for them. We must realize just because we do not match up perfectly around those around us doesn’t mean we have to change ourselves but it’s up to the other party if they are willing to adapt too to making this work. Change makes us feel uneasy but if it’s worth the commitment - we will make it work.
