Often when we meet new people and find a connection that brings us together - it's refreshing. It's exciting. It brings a harmonious feeling that touches our core. We discover ourselves more when we hang around people that bring us this feeling. It's calming and we dive into the unknown. We're vulnerable at these moments and when we surround ourselves with people that bring out the best in us - we let our guard down. We trust them. We have no barriers because there is no perceived threat. Until one day, we meet someone that tries to change our mind. That matches positivity with unhinged negativity. Who attacks us from ways we didn't expect. Because we left ourselves open to it. Just because we are vulnerable and have experiences with these people doesn't mean it has to change us or our ways. Undertones will not undermine our foundational beliefs. Surrounding ourselves with people that have good intentions is the key to our everyday growth. We won't settle for less.
